Discover the legacy of El Dorado Electrical JATC, a collaboration between IBEW Local 436 and Arkansas’s NECA chapter. Since our 1950 inception, we’ve evolved from a DOL-registered apprentice trainer to a leading institution in electrical education, shaping the industry’s future with each passing year.
Our teaching methods have transformed dramatically, from the days of film reels and handwritten notes to the modern era’s blend of classroom instruction, digital learning and practical, hands-on training. This evolution is mirrored in our journey from a union hall to an old schoolhouse, culminating in our current state-of-the-art facility.
As members of the National Electrical Training Alliance, we use their current curriculum so our training follows the latest industry standards and teaching methods. That prepares apprentices for work at the front of the electrical field.
